Privacy policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
This is the website of Micah Lueck, children's book author and founder of Humor & Heart Publishing. I collect as little of your data as possible, and I never sell it. Here's exactly what happens.
What I collect
- The contact form. If you send a note, I receive the name, email address, and message you type in. I use them only to read and reply to your message.
- The newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address goes to Substack, which runs the newsletter. Substack's own privacy policy applies there, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
That's it. There are no accounts, no purchases, and no ads on this site.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies, and it doesn't set any cookies of its own. The Substack signup box is loaded from Substack and may set cookies needed for it to work.
Services that help run the site
- Netlify hosts the site and stores contact-form messages. Like any web host, it keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser connects to Google to load them.
- Substack runs the newsletter signup, as described above.
What I never do
I don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for marketing. I don't add you to the newsletter unless you sign up yourself.
Kids
I write for kids, but this website is meant for grown-ups: parents, teachers, agents, and editors. I don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you're a kid who wants to say hi, please ask a parent or teacher to send the note. If I learn I've received a message from a child under 13, I'll delete it.
Your choices
You can ask me to tell you what I have from you, or to delete it, at any time. Just send a request through the contact form. I keep contact messages only as long as I need them to reply and follow up.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
