I write children's books that find the funny, peculiar angle on ordinary things. Each story is written to spark laughter, a little wonder, and a whole lot of heart. As a proud girl dad who's read and re-read thousands of books (some against my will), I also try to entertain the grown-up readers, so they won't mind reaching for these stories, whether it's the fifth time or the fiftieth.
Stories with humor & heart
After 15+ years in the corporate world, I traded boardrooms for board books — well, mostly picture books, but that isn't as catchy.
What started as a personal challenge to write a book my kids would enjoy turned into more than a dozen finished manuscripts, many with series potential. Along the way, I joined the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), revised my stories through several critique groups, and founded Humor & Heart Publishing™ to self-publish my first books.
My goal is to make reading the best part of the day and keep kids off screens, one book at a time. That means stories that are interactive, a little mischievous, and full of narrators and scenes that pull readers right in.

I also write literary fiction for adults — darker stories about complicated people and the moments that change them.
